The Furbee Journey
Our roots in America.
"Benjamin left England to start a new life for his family. He patented land in Queen Anne's County, Maryland. His family set sail from England to join him but sadly, Benjamin died while his family was making the voyage from England to be with him.
Research shows that Elizabeth arrived safely in Maryland in September of 1668, with her five children, after her Benjamin had passed. She made home in Talbot County, Maryland. In 1706 they migrated to Queen Anne's County and later moved the family to Kent County, Delaware.
Our family owes Elizabeth a debt of gratitude for the strength and endurance she showed, raising five children alone, in a strange new land with no other friends and family. We all thank you Elizabeth."
