Orloff remains a mystery to my family. He was born Herbert Miller Parker. Family tradition says he "ran away" from home as a young adult after a dispute with his parents. He then proceeded to move down the same street from them and change his name to Miller. Civil war records and his military gravestone indicate his name as Orloff C. Miller. His only child carries the surname Parker. What I would love to know is what they fought about, why he lived on the same street if he ran away and changed his name,is Orloff a family name, and what does the C. stand for. Any help is appreciated.
