"LEVI SHUMAN son of William and Sarah (Ferby)Shuman born May 13, 1831 married to Alcinda Cook daughter of Richard and Rachel (Garrison) Cook.

Many of his children did not lived to maturity.

Some of them died in infancy.

Quite active in Politics, and held many County offices, Including Sheriff, and Assessor.

He lived the most of his life in the County seat , New Martinsville, W.Va."
