Notes |
- "Clowney accomplished one year of college at the time of the 1940 Census.
He served as a Sargent in The First Great War, World War I.
He took up the finer arts of concrete and its many uses. Eventually, he became a specialist in the field offering his know how and knowledge, to various Counties and States. Namely West Virginia, Ohio, Kentucky, Pennsylvania, New York. He was even called as far away as Florida.
In 1940 he is listed in the Census as having a Lodger in his family home.
Clowney also supervised highway bridge structures and was the Superintendent of a large Concrete Pipe Works.
He retired in 1970 and lived modestly just out of Wileyville, Wetzel County, West Virginia with his wife, Maude.
He died soon after retirement."
