  Pappy had a seeing eye cat named Tom. Tom passed away before Pappy died and was laid to rest in the backyard of his home. I remember talking to your great-grandmother years ago, and also to your grandmother, Hope. It's interesting that you should write just now, because I just filled in a little bit of your family's history. Over the weekend I finally found Addison Burgess's daughter, Mary, who died in 1932 at Bradley, OK, aged 81. Still no luck with Julia (her sister), however. I also have a death date now for Elma: Jan. 1, 1972, but I've never been able to get to Philippi to locate an exact date of death for James Monroe Burgess--or an obituary for the man. Nathaniel Utterback's wife was named Mary "Molly" Tomlin. Addison Burgess is buried in the Buckland Methodist Church Cemetery in Prince William Co., VA. I'd appreciate anything you could add to the record I have in the book for your family--for example, your son's name and date and place of birth, and your great-grandmother's date of birth, her parents' names, and where she and Charles were married.
