- Kate and Jack died in an accident (I think it was an automobile accident). The official ending status of thier marriage is "Death of one spouse", although they may have died at the same exact time.
After the deaths of Kate and Jack, Mildred Ida Pauline Hancock King and her husband J. R. took in at least Jack and one of his sisters if not all of them.
