7162 I23279  KAMM  MARIA CATHERINA  23 Dec 1713  Bet. 1781 - 1795  Sevier County Heritage and a few other resources list Maria's surname as Gaff. Anna Maria Gaff and Maria Catherine Gaff are the two names I have seen often associated with Maria Kamm. I am postive that all of the records prove that her name was Maria Catharina Kamm.

On May 28th, 1762 in Richmond Township, Berks County, Pennsylvania Maria Catherina Kamm Emmert was appointed as administratix of her husband's estate.

BAPTISM: Maria Catharine Kamm was baptized on Saturday, 23 December 1713 at Eppingen Reformed Church in Eppingen, Germany.

BIOGRAPHY: Maria Catharine Kamm, daughter of Caspar and Anna Catharina Franck Kamm, was born in Germany in 1713. Maria was baptized on Saturday, 23 December 1713 at Eppingen Reformed Church in Eppingen, Germany. She came with her parents to America about 1730 from Germany where they settled in the Philadelphia, Pennsylvania area. About 1730, Maria Catharine Kamm was married to Philip Emmert in Philadelphia, Philadelphia County, Pennsylvania. They settled in Upper Hanover Township, Philadelphia County (now Montgomery County), Pennsylvania. They were also members of the Congregation of the New Goshenhoppen Reformed Church there.
In late August of 1741, her husband Philip Emmert and his brother-in-law George Pfaltgraff made an overseas trip to visit Germany for their father-in-law Caspar Kamm for an unknown reason. They came home on the ship "St. Mark" on Tuesday, 26 September 1741 from Rotterdam, Holland by the way of Cowes, England. Philip Emmert apparently had died before Friday, 28 May 1762 in Richmond Township, Berks County, Pennsylvania. On that date, Maria Catharine Kamm Emmert was appointed as administratrix of her husband's estate. There have been no other records found on the proceedings and the settlement of his estate there. There was no further data on Maria Catharine Kamm Emmert found after the last recorded entry.

(1d) 1752: Philip EMMERT was executor of the will of Johannes Caspar KAMM, New Hanover Twp., Philadelphia Co., PA. Catharine EMERT(ON) eldest daughter and heir.
(2a) 1763, 18 Mar: Andreas MUHLSCHLAGEL and Maria Catharina EMERTIN, my mother-in-law, make an agreement that I, Andreas and my wife Anna Maria MUHLSCHLAGERIN and my heirs and descendants promise to take care of my mother-in-law in food and drink, cloths for Sundays and work days and all that she needs for living as long as she lives, but if she should by God's will become ill, I, Andreas MUHLSCHLAGEL, my wife Anna Maria and my heirs and descendants will care for her. For this care, I, Maria Catharina EMERTIN give my son-in-law Andreas MUHLSCHLAGEL 60 pounds cost money. To be given by the 15th of March 1763 a cow and two rabbits. However, I, Andreas MUHSCHLAGEL, as I live or die am in the position to care of my mother-in-law according to this accord she will not ask for the gold back or the cow and rabbits not even if she is unsatisfied with the care.
