After moving to Gibson County, Indiana, he made the brick that went into many of the houses in the northern part of that county. In 1817 he received a bounty (a dollar per scalp) on a wolf scalp. She was an white haired lady who I can barely remember. The big house she lived in was in Wear's Valley and you had to drive through a stream to get there. They eventually built a bridge. On one visit I remember chickens in the barn. Grandma Walker always wanted to hold me on her lap and I knew she was very old, but I was not afraid of her. The last things I remember was going to the house and she was very ill. Bedridden. I did not go see her but Mama did. This is about all I remember about Grandma Walker, but I remember well her kind face. They had an outside toilet. Alice Foster Blevins.
