Over the weekend I finally found Addison Burgess's daughter, Mary, who died in 1932 at Bradley, OK, aged 81. Still no luck with Julia (her sister), however. I also have a death date now for Elma: Jan. 1, 1972, but I've never been able to get to Philippi to locate an exact date of death for James Monroe Burgess--or an obituary for the man. Nathaniel Utterback's wife was named Mary "Molly" Tomlin. Addison Burgess is buried in the Buckland Methodist Church Cemetery in Prince William Co., VA. I'd appreciate anything you could add to the record I have in the book for your family--for example, your son's name and date and place of birth, and your great-grandmother's date of birth, her parents' names, and where she and Charles were married. He was retired from Union Carbide, Hastings, WV, a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church, Pine Grove, and an Army veteran of World War II. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jesse H. and Leah F. Dulaney Long; two brothers, Homer and Norman; and a sister, Mildred Dulaney. Surviving are his wife, Aletta D. "Letty" Keenan Long; a son, David E. and his wife, Mary Lou, of Pine Grove; three step-grandchildren, Roger Gorby and his wife, Tiffany, Michael Gorby, all of Myrtle Beach, SC, and Tammy Gorby of Clarksburg, WV; and two step great-grandchildren. Friends received 2-9 p.m. Wednesday at Palmer Funeral Home, Pine Grove. Friends then received from 10 a.m. until time of services at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Paul United Methodist Church.
